CONCLUSIONS

It is important to study these types of issues to show the environmental problems that arise in our environment During the development of the project, the studies could be implemented about the impacts in the environment and the society.  The solution of this type of problem generates great benefits to all community in aspects such as health, enjoyment of the habitat and the public image The financing of projects allows to generate solutions to environmental problems that affect all living beings, however, is the financing the most difficult part of this project. It is necessary that the people of the community change their habits and help the project by not throwing garbage into the river This work will perform a partial and not total river cleaning due to external causes of contamination Caro Álvarez - Juan Diego Gómez - Ana Agudelo

INTRODUCTION

River pollution is a problem in many places in the world. In Medellín-Colombia, the pollution in Medellín river is very high, this river passes through ten municipalities and goes over 75 Km, but in a big part of the river it looks sick and smells really bad, that pollution is generated by people irresponsibility and industry wastes. One Solution for the Pollution in Medellín River searches to clean the river by using information and technology. Our idea is to select the most affected zones with the help of Big Data and, with this information, to install a line of machines with collectors of trash and with cleaners. Also, to do this, we need people to stop throwing trash, the industries to stop throwing their wastes to the environment, so it is necessary to raise awareness and we plan to do it by implementing a campaign. It  is very important to clean the river because this affects the health of the citizens, mainly those who live very close to this. We hope to clean the river...

PLAN OF ACTION.

1. We will use information obtained from Big data to recognize the places where the biggest amount of garbage is accumulated throughout the river. 2. Then, we will make prototype machines that will be placed in the selected sites with the purpose of evaluating whether they are efficient or not. 3. We will install different nets in the identified critical places that are going to collect the garbage. 4. A special filter will be set to collect particles of smaller size. 5. In this same site, there will be some machines that are going to be in charge of taking away the garbage and place it in a container. 6. The garbage will be selected and recycled properly. 7. Finally, social management will be carried out to help people be aware of this important issue and avoid that more garbage ends up in the river. -Carolina Álvarez.
